10 Days Tanzania Kenya Safaris – Full Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
This is the beginning of 10-Days Tanzania and Kenya Safari. You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi in the morning and transferred to Masai Mara, located 5-6 hours drive away from Nairobi. Enjoy game drives en-route before dinner and overnight stay at your camp.
Day 2: Full Day at Maasai Mara Reserve
The Masai Mara with its savannahs, grasslands and undulating hills all combine to set the scene for the splendor of a Kenyan safari. Spend a full day in this wild game park to experience the ultimate adventure in Kenya before returning to camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara to Serengeti National Park
Today, you cross the Kenya-Tanzania border and arrive at the world-famous Serengeti. This is the long dry season and the wildebeest migration is moving north with the thundershowers. The period from July to September is the time when wildebeest herds cross the Mara River in the very north of the Serengeti in an area called Kogatende before they migrate to the Maasai Mara in Kenya. This provides for some amazing wildlife viewing.

Day 4 – 5: Full day at Serengeti Park
Many visitors only want to see the river crossings but the true spectacle of the migration is more than 1,500,000 wildebeests, 200,000 Burchell’s zebras, 18,000 elands and 500,000 Thomson’s Gazelles filling the entire stretch of landscape. Spending more days here increases your chance to witness endless herds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River. The shifting columns of the herds as they traverse the valleys and the hills can only be watched in awe. There is nothing else like this on earth. Return to camp in late afternoon for dinner and overnight stay. You can go for an optional hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti plains. (Extra fees apply.) Or, go for a morning drive for an amazing game viewing experience.
Day 6:safari to Ngorongoro Crater
Enjoy morning game drive in central and southern Serengeti then drive toward Ngorongoro Conservation via Olduvai Gorge.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater to Tarangire
Leave very early in the morning for game viewing in Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the Ngorongoro caldera to view the wildlife on the crater floor. In the afternoon, proceed to Tarangire where you will have dinner and spend your evening time for game drive.
Day 8: safari to Arusha
Tarangire is probably one of the least visited of the northern Tanzanian game parks, and retains a real air of undiscovered Africa, particularly in the south of the park. Just two hours drive away from Arusha. Leave Tarangire in the afternoon and drive to Arusha for overnight.
Day 9: Arusha to Amboseli National Park
After a leisurely breakfast, you can go for an optional tour around Arusha town to visit the Maasai Market, Cultural Heritage, Arusha Museum of Natural History, curio shops, or the Tanzanite Experience before crossing the Tanzania-Kenya border at Namanga to proceed to Amboseli.
Day 10: Amboseli to Nairobi
Early breakfast at the lodge then go for game drives in Amboseli later drive to Nairobi
Departure Day: Transfer to the Airport
